Good news is I will get my vacations in 1 week! Bad news is… I will probably take classes for two extra months… to compensate for my latest bad grades… YIKES!

OK guys, yesterday’s problem is solved. Our friendly hosting staff has more than doubled our bandwidth

At the current rate, we should be OK for the rest of the month. Still, I will keep a VERY close eye on that bandwidth meter. I’m also planning a server move and a radical redesign and improvement on the site. Again, all this is at a “planning” stage at the moment. I have to sort out through lots of ideas and decide how to actually implement them. Most ideas have come directly from YOU, by answering the survey I posted a little while ago. I also have to choose a better membership script, install it and configure it. It’s a lot of work. This stuff will take time, but will be well worth it!

Thanks for your patience during this small crisis. The only “damage” we took was a few members canceling out. That’s a pretty cheap price paid for this mess if you ask me, and a hard lesson learned! OK, now you can look forward to some exciting surprises in the coming weeks & months…

I have some bad news… I know, I know… All the product download links are down. This was done on purpose.

We have experienced VERY HIGH traffic during this month. So much so, that we have already depleted 80% of our MONTHLY bandwidth. That means we’ve got to wait until December, when bandwidth is reset (this is how cPanel works). In the meantime, we have decided to reduce the load on the site as much as possible, without actually taking the whole thing down. If we let the bandwidth run out all the way to 100%, the site would go down AUTOMATICALLY. So, in order to prevent that, we are taking preventive measures.

Unfortunately, this means all download links had to be disabled (since they are the most bandwidth-extensive part of the site). I know this is very frustrating for all of you (and even more for me), but we just HAD to do this for the good of the site. Please have my sincerest apologies. We are doing our best to bring things back to normal ASAP! We are contacting our hosting people in order to get more bandwidth.

So, what caused this huge traffic surge in the first place? Well, ourselves. I have been promoting the site very actively over the last months, specially during October and November. Primarily, I have been invited to a number of high-profile giveaways which have brought in TONS of daily visitors. While this was expected and “under control”, it recently got much “worse”, VERY fast. While this is a GREAT problem for a site to have (too much traffic), if you are not prepared, it’s a recipe for disaster! Members have been downloading products on a never-seen-before scale here, and that’s what has drained our bandwidth the most. This caught us completely off-guard, but I accept full responsibility.

Or you can come back here every now on then to check on the updates. Again, I deeply apologize for this mess. I better get back to work now.
